7 Hidden Features of The iPhone 7

The design of the iPhone 7 is not much different from its predecessor. However, Apple still gives some new features on the iPhone that they launched last year. Here are some features on the iPhone 7 that you must know.

1. Raise to Wake
You no longer need to unlock or press the Home button to view information on the iPhone screen. With the Raise to Wake feature, you simply pick up your phone to see the lock screen and notifications. If you want to turn off this feature, just go to Settings> Display & Brightness and disable the Raise to Wake feature.

2. Limit the information on the lock screen
iPhone 7 can display a variety of information at a glance on the lock screen, which can be very helpful when you need to know about a message or an existing reminder. However, if you want to limit the information that appears on the lock screen, you can access it in Settings> Touch ID & Passcode and disable items that you do not want to appear in the lock screen.

3. Touch your finger to the Home button to unlock it
Considering you no longer need to swap to unlock your phone, you can now choose whether you would prefer to press the Home button to unlock or simply put your finger on the Home button.

To change the setting for the lock to open the finger on the Home button, you need to access Settings> General> Accessibility> Home Button and enable the Rest Finger to Open feature, as quoted from CNET.

4. Select vibration power
If you choose to press the Home button to unlock the phone, you can adjust the power of the feedback you receive when you press the Home button. For that reason, just access Settings> General> Home Button.

5. Control Center is hidden
On the iPhone, you can swipe from the bottom of the screen to access the Control Center. Here, you can adjust the WiFi and Bluetooth settings, activate the flashlight and various other features. However, did you know that you can access another Control Center by swiping to the left? The Control Center allows you to access controls for music and podcasts.

6. Use effects on messages
The Message app gets reshuffled when Apple releases iOS 10. Now, you can use stickers and GIFs as well as effects on messages. There are 4 effect options for message bubble, Slam, Loud, Gentle and Invisible Ink and 5 effects on the screen, namely Balloons, Confetti, Lasers, Fireworks and Shooting Star.

To access these effects, simply type your message as usual. However, do not press the blue arrow button to send the message, but tap and hold the blue arrow key for some time to send the message with various effects.

7. Enable Night Shift
Cold blue colors may make it hard to sleep. You can change the colors that appear on the screen to warmer by going to Settings> Display & Brightness> Night Shift. You can set the schedule for this mode to be active in a certain period. You can also activate it manually.
