Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30

Just before the IFA 2017, Samsung took the first step to take the lead with the Galaxy Note 8. Now LG shows us at the Berlin fair that is not far behind with the LG V30. Both smartphones belong to the highest range and have a few things in common.

Not long ago, LG and Samsung smartphones looked very different, but with the LG V30 and the Galaxy Note 8, both have come very close. Curved glass front and back, which joins seamlessly with the aluminum frame and smooth shapes define the appearance of these devices. The exterior of both Korean smartphones has a mature and elegant presentation. The edges around the screen are minimal, but only in the case of Samsung, the screen curved at the sides.

In this sense, it is difficult to opt for a favorite. Both smartphones have an elegant look and an impeccable finish. Maybe the back of the LG is a little more achieved, with its bright colors. For its part, the Galaxy Note 8 has a more sober appearance. LG has also managed to integrate the camera a little better on the cover. What is better is the position of the fingerprint sensor, something that current Samsung smartphones are not liking very much.

The S-Pen of the Galaxy Note 8 is a point in its favor

The great feature that makes Samsung’s smartphone unique is the S-Pen. LG only has a smartphone with a stylus in its middle class. In the high-end Samsung has no one to overshadow this aspect, which takes advantage of this market leader, getting the functions of the Galaxy Note 8 stylus are something unusual. With the S-Pen we can do things that are impossible with other devices, such as writing and taking notes directly on the screen when it is off, creating GIF files or drawing. It is clear that not everyone needs all these functions, but we will not make them sick either.

In the technical specifications of these two phones, we find many similarities, but also some differences. The Galaxy Note 8 has a slightly larger screen with 6.3 inches than the LG V30. LG smartphone is a shorter and slightly flatter. Samsung is a bit ahead with regards to the resolution of the front camera and memory. The battery of both devices is identical. Also interesting because the Note 8 is heavier than the V30. In the following table, we show you the comparison of its specifications.

The dual cameras of Samsung and LG show a few parallels entirely, although in the background they are altogether different. Both have two cameras side by side, but the Galaxy Note 8 has a telephoto with double zoom next to the standard camera, while LG includes a wide-angle lens. Makes the Galaxy Note 8 more suitable for making portraits and close-ups, while the V30 is capable of capturing more in an image than most smartphones.

The fight between Samsung and LG is very interesting since both smartphones are elegant, well equipped, fast and, despite their similarities, each has its unique touch.
